Provocative thought of the week

Ocean WhiteHawk Mother Ocean Quote

NEVER NEVER NEVER do the poor me. A poor me mindset instantly strips you of your personal power. You feel victimised, at the mercy of the seeming perpetrator or situation which makes you see the world as an unfair place. When you do that, you also subconsciously see God as unjust and uncaring. This distorted way of seeing undermines our faith in goodness and subtly makes us turn away from our own divinity.

Refuse to see yourself as a victim in any situation. Resist the temptation to succumb to a mindset that finds emotional sympathy an attractive option. We are drawn towards such a mindset because of its payback. One of the paybacks of being a victim is that someone else and not you, is responsible for the mess. This way we do not have to take any personal responsibility towards what has happened. Unfortunately as we deny our responsibility, we also deny our power to make the situation better. Doing so also puts us at the mercy of others to decide how we should feel – in heaven or in hell.
